24-year-old Canadian international David is all but certain to be one of the big names on the free agent market next summer.

The former Gent striker is out of contract with Lille next summer. His contract expires at the end of next June.

And there is no indication that David will sign a new deal with Lille.

The Ligue 1 club have tried to convince the Canadian to put pen to paper on an extension. But he is not inclined to do so.

Therefore, David will almost certainly be available on a free transfer at the end of this season.

David has stayed at Lille for a few seasons despite fairly persistent transfer rumours linking him with an exit.

But with the striker available without a transfer fee, he will become a particularly enticing prospect.

And according to Tuttosport, there are three clubs in particular who are eyeing a move for David up.

Inter’s presence on that list is hardly a surprise.

The Nerazzurri have made a real habit of big name free transfer signings in the last few years.

This summer alone, Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski arrived at Inter after the expiration of their contracts with Porto and Napoli respectively.

That duo followed the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Andre Onana, and Marcus Thuram as high profile transfer signings that Inter have pulled off recently.

Moreover, Marko Arnautovic will almost certainly leave Inter when his own contract expires next summer.

Therefore, Inter will have an attacking vacancy to fill. And they certainly would not be averse to doing so without paying a transfer fee.

But there will be competition for David. Barcelona are also keen, sensing an opportunity to bolster their attack, where the aging Robert Lewandowski is still a key component.

And Inter also have rivals for David’s signature within Serie A, Tuttosport reports. Juventus are also ready to make a move for the Canadian next summer.
