Former Inter star Goran Pandev feels Simone Inzaghi is similar to José Mourinho in terms of his communication style and admits he goes ‘crazy’ for Nerazzurri star Marcus Thuram.
Pandev was the guest on Andrea Ranocchia’s podcast, Frog Talks, where he discussed some of his coaches and teammates.
A 2010 Champions League winner with Inter, Pandev spent one and a half years at San Siro, scoring eight goals in 69 appearances across all competitions.
“Mourinho was a leader who defended us when things didn’t go well. He was a real person, one who said things to your face,” said the ex-striker.
“I had so many coaches in my career, but nobody was quite like him. Reserves loved him more than starters, and I still can’t understand how I did so.”
Pandev sees a similarity between Mou and his ex-teammate Simone Inzaghi.
“I know Inzaghi so well; we played together at Lazio,” Pandev recalled.
“He is so similar to Mourinho in the way he talks. I think he can do great things. Inter signed experienced players in the summer, and the club has done very well in recent years. The midfield is very strong and worthy of being among the top three in Europe. And I go crazy for Thuram; he has improved so much.”
