Inter have been drawn into Group E for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. They will be joined by River Plate. Urawa Diamonds and CF Monterrey.
Group E begins in the following order:
River Plate
Urawa Red Diamonds
CF Monterrey
Inter
As Inter were drawn into fourth position in Group E, they will face Monterrey in their opening match at the final tournament.
Simone Inzaghi’s side will then face Urawa Red Diamonds in the second game, before facing River Plate in a potential decider in the third group stage match.
The official dates have not yet been confirmed, but group stage matches are expected to take place over the first two weeks of the tournament, which begins on June 15, 2025.
12 venues across 11 cities in the United States are hosting the 2025 Club World Cup. They are as follows:
It remains to be seen which stadia Inter will play in at the final tournament.
Exactly the same as the recent 32 team World Cup for international sides.
The two highest-ranked teams from each group will progress directly into the knock-out rounds. There will be no play-offs for teams that finish in third place.
The knockout rounds are all single-legged, and will begin from the round of 16, then the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and then the eventual final.
Yes. There is a possibility of a Derby d’Italia between Inter and Juventus.
In order for that to happen, Inter and Juventus will both need to finish in first place, or both in second place in their respective groups. If that happens, they will meet in the quarter-finals, assuming that both teams also progress through the round of 16.
If one team finishes top of their group and the other in second, Inter and Juventus will be drawn into opposite sides of the knock-out bracket, and will not meet until the final.
