This past August, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi said the Canada star would be forced to the sidelines until the end of December after undergoing surgery for a fractured tibia in July.

Early reports claimed the 25-year-old would remain out of action for four to six months, but it’s now emerging that the Nerazzurri defender is making steady improvements on the pitch.

Inter expert Pasquale Guarro said on X, formerly Twitter, that the Nerazzurri were confident that Buchanan could resume training with the rest of the team at the beginning of October.

Friday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, on page 19, reports that the Canada defender is already ‘running on the pitch’ and confirms that he will rejoin his teammates for full training sessions at the start of next month.

According to Gazzetta, Buchanan will be eligible to play a competitive match in mid-October.

The Nerazzurri indirectly confirmed Buchanan’s developments earlier this week as Simone Inzaghi included the 25-year-old in Inter’s Champions League squad list.
