Chelsea are in talks with the agents of Jadon Sancho and will make a final decision in a few days according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are gearing up for another busy summer and have all but completed their first signing after reaching an agreement with Ipswich for Liam Delap.
A striker was the main priority and the Blues could look to sign another one, but they are also looking for a centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.
There’s set to be movement in the wide areas with Estevao Willian to arrive after the Club World Cup, whilst Noni Madueke is reportedly attracting interest.
Sancho joined on an initial loan deal from Manchester United and Chelsea have an obligation to buy for £25m, but they have the option to pay a £5m penalty fee to send him back to United.
Chelsea are yet to take a final decision on the winger, but Sancho scored in the Conference League triumph against Real Betis on Wednesday night.

However, it looks like Chelsea could be swaying towards keeping Sancho and Romano has provided an update on the situation.
He took to X.com and said:
“Chelsea are in active talks with Jadon Sancho’s agents to understand salary requests as crucial point ahead of the final decision on player’s future.
“Chelsea won’t match Sancho’s current salary at Manchester United, talks to follow, and decision to be made in few days.”
Sancho has had a mixed season at Stamford Bridge and has five goals and ten assists from 42 appearances in all competitions, and has most recently been linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Chelsea have been linked with several wide players including Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

The Blues reportedly “love” Gittens and are said to be prepared to offer him a deal which would see his current salary doubled.
Williams has been described as a “dream” target, but it’s been reported he would want £400,000 per week if he were to make a switch to the Premier League, which makes a deal hard to imagine.
