Eddie Howe’s team making it six wins in a row.

Ian Wright excited by what he is seeing with Newcastle United and the possibilities as we move forward, the last three of those six victories seeing a 3-0 thrashing of Villa, then excellent deserved wins away at both Man U and Tottenham.

All three matches seeing United with each game won by half-time.

“Newcastle United look very together now.

“That eleven what he [Eddie Howe] can put out now, look really quite formidable.

“Especially when you consider no European football, one game a week rather than like three games a week.

“I think Tonali with elite defensive work and technical work, Guimaraes as well.

“Alexander Isak, an elite striker who is getting good service, he can do both [score difficult goals and be in the right place for easier finishes].

“The form he is in, if you actually watch [Isak’s winner against Spurs] and it gets a deflection off the defender but because he is in that form, he is still able to put it in the goal, it could easily have deflected wide.

“The form he is though, whether he is making the chance for himself, or he is in the box and the ball is coming in, it’s like fantastic.

“Newcastle in great form, I think their biggest worry now is to try and hold onto the players, hold on to somebody like Isak and Gordon, they look brilliant.

“I think with Tonali, we have seen nowhere near as much as we are going to see out of him [in the future].

“Getting Botman back, he’s big for them.

“I think the biggest problem now is clubs coming in and trying to poach those players.

“We hear people talk about Isak every time talking about a striker, rightly so because of his form and how good he is… if Newcastle now can add to this and move certain players on.

“I don’t want to name names [squad players who aren’t first choice] because disrespectful, but get into those players who are going to get them back into the Champions League, then you see where Newcastle go from there.

“Because I’m sure when Eddie Howe took this job, the very thing that was supposedly happening at Newcastle, they would have thought they’d have been a lot further on with different players [they’d have been able to sign].

“So I think he is in a good place now but he’s probably thinking ‘Am I going to get players, can I get players, because now we can kick on.’
