João Palhinha played just 667 minutes for Bayern Munich in his maiden campaign as the Rekordmeister reclaimed their Bundesliga title. Holding a contract until 2028 after joining from Fulham for €51m, the Portuguese midfielder discussed his future at the club.
Speaking after Portugal’s 2-1 win against Germany in the UEFA Nations League Finals, Palhinha told Sky Germany: “I still have three years left on my contract here at Bayern. I need to talk to the coach and sporting director about whether I’ll get my chance here. If not, then we’ll see.”
Palhinha emphasised that he will fight for his place in the Bayern squad. “My dream is to be successful here,” said the 29-year-old. “It was incredibly tough getting here. Nothing in life is easy. I’m proud to have landed here. There’s no reason to be angry. I’ve won a title with Bayern and hope there is more to come. I will always fight, whatever the future holds.”
