Cole Palmer has revealed he still gets nervous even though he gives off the feeling that he’s phased by absolutely nothing.

Palmer has been nothing short of sensational since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth £42.5m.

The 22-year-old has taken the Premier League by the storm and has quickly established himself as not only one of the best players in the league, but also the world.

Palmer reveals he does get nervous

Palmer was named Premier League Young Player of the Year last season after scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists in memorable breakout campaign.

The question surrounding the England international was whether he could replicate that form this season and he’s made a brilliant start.

Despite receiving closer attention from the opposition Palmer has still scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 15 games, with Enzo Maresca revealing he’s very proud to work with the attacker.

Palmer gives off the feeling that he doesn’t feel nerves and isn’t phased by anything as demonstrated by his Panenka penalty in the win against Tottenham last Sunday.

However, Palmer has revealed despite that perception of him he is in fact human and feels nerves just like everyone else.

“Obviously, I feel nerves, I am human you know!,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“I don’t really feel it when I’m on the pitch, though. Maybe before the game I do a little but when the game starts I don’t.

“It’s like anything. You might feel nervous about something but when you start doing it you realise it’s actually not that bad.

“But I don’t really feel nervous much off the pitch, it’s just in some moments I might get nervous.”

You can tell by his performances that Palmer isn’t nervous whilst he’s on the pitch and Alan Shearer said earlier this year he looks like he’s playing in the park.

Palmer will be hoping to score for the fourth consecutive league game as Chelsea look to make it seven wins in a row in all competitions against Brentford.
