Hugo Ekitiké set to sign 6-year contract with Liverpool | OneFootball

Hugo Ekitiké (23) is set to sign a 6-year contract with Liverpool after personal terms were agreed, according to a report from Fabrice Hawkins. The 23-year-old has made joining the Premier League champions his priority during the summer transfer window. He would sign a contract until 2031.

Whilst no fee has yet been agreed between the Merseyside outfit and Eintracht Frankfurt, discussions are progressing well and an agreement is close, Hawkins understands. Newcastle United were also interested in acquiring Ekitiké’s services, but pulled out of the race following Liverpool acting on their long-term interest.

Rested for friendly

Ekitiké is set to be rested for the Bundesliga side’s upcoming friendly against FSV Frankfurt. They are eager to avoid any injury to the former Paris Saint-Germain forward that would scupper any potential move. Sky Sports News reports that the Reds are proposing a fee in the region of £75m to bring the Frenchman to Anfield.
