Hugo Ekitike’s transfer to Liverpool may be finalised today as he has arrived in Merseyside for his medical, according to Sky Sports.
Premier League champions, Liverpool will pay €90 million (£78 million) plus €5 million in additional bonuses to Frankfurt for the 23 year old French forward.
Ekitike has already accepted a contract until 2031, with a salary of up to €15 million (£13 million) gross per year.
Born and raised in Reims, France, Ekitike began his professional career with Stade Reims before graduating to PSG in 2022.
However, after managing just three goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances, Ekitike joined Eintracht Frankfurt from PSG for €16.5 million after a successful loan spell.
Ekitike shone in west Germany, with 23 goal contributions (15G 8A) in 33 league appearances last season as Frankfurt finished third and made the Europa league quarter-finals, losing out to eventual winners, Tottenham.
His form has earned admirers and Ekitike has been the centre of intense transfer speculation this summer.
Premier League rivals, Manchester United were still trying to hijack the deal as late as last week.
But Liverpool have nearly got their man, completing a trio of Bundesliga signings this summer, with Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong already onboard from Bayer Leverkusen.
Ekitike is yet to make his full international debut for France but his potential seems boundless.
If all goes as expected today, he could begin pre-season training with his new Liverpool teammates as early as tomorrow.
