‘How’s my English?’ – Allegri reacts to West Ham links | OneFootball

West Ham United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 on Monday night at the London Stadium, easing pressure on under-fire boss Julen Lopetegui.

The Hammers produced an insipid attacking display in the first half, but they improved after the break, with Tomas Soucek heading home the opening goal.

Matt Doherty levelled the scores for the visitors, but West Ham emerged victorious after Jarrod Bowen’s decisive strike in the 72nd minute.

The home victory may have brought Lopetegui some time, but his position at the club is far from secure.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with Max Allegri, who has been out of work since leaving Juventus in May.

The Italian boss was recently asked about West Ham and his English skills, to which he cheekily replied (per Calciomercato.com): “How’s my English? Very good”.

Further probed on the links, he added: “Where’s the exit? Where is the exit?”

Allegri is one of the top managers currently available in the market. Securing his services would represent a significant coup for West Ham.

The 57-year-old has won six Serie A titles during his stints at Juventus and AC Milan.

He boasts plenty of managerial experience at the top level and is highly rated for his tactical acumen.

However, Allegri may not want to join West Ham in the middle of the season.

Graham Potter, Edin Terzic and Michael Carrick have also been linked with West Ham.
