According to Football London, the Premier League side are currently rebuffing any offers of a temporary move for the 20-year-old.

It was previously reported by Birmingham World earlier this summer that the Baggies had issued an enquiry over the player’s availability for next season.

The forward spent last season on loan with League One side Leyton Orient, where he contributed eight goals and 10 assists from 39 appearances.

It is understood that Spurs are set to turn down any offers of a loan move for Donley at this time.

It is believed that new manager Thomas Frank wants to first take a closer look at him in pre-season training before making any concrete decisions over his future.

It has been claimed that the situation may be revisited later in the summer, opening the door for a possible loan before the market closes.

However, it remains to be seen whether West Brom will be patient and wait for the opportunity to sign the player potentially as late as August.

The Baggies will be keen to get their business done as early as they can to best prepare for the new season.

Donley has four years remaining on his current Spurs contract, leaving West Brom with little leverage in any upcoming negotiations for a loan.

Jamie Donley’s Leyton Orient form

Donley impressed many during his loan spell with Leyton Orient last season, playing a key role in Richie Wellens’ side.

The O’s earned a place in the play-off final, although they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship.

The 20-year-old’s 20 goals and assists tally was second only to Charlie Kelman in the Leyton Orient squad.

He has now returned to Spurs, where he will be looking to impress Frank ahead of the new Premier League season.

Donley situation won’t come as a surprise to West Brom

Spurs hiring a new manager means it’s a fresh start for everyone at the club, so it’s not surprising that Frank wants to take a look at some of the younger players up close.

This means that any Championship club wanting to loan a youngster this summer will likely have to wait until the first weeks of pre-season before any major decisions are made.

West Brom now need to decide whether they’re willing to be patient or if Ryan Mason will want to move on to other transfer targets.

Donley certainly looked very promising in League One last year, and a Championship move would be good for his development, so a move to the Hawthorns could be a deal that works for all parties later in the window.
