Italy and Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is expected to return to action before a Premier League game against Everton on December 7.

It will be played at Goodison Park, with kick-off time at 13:30 CET.

At the time of writing, Chiesa has only made three appearances with the Reds, providing one assist. The ex-Juventus and Fiorentina star has been struggling with injuries but is expected to return to action soon.

The upcoming fixture will be the last-ever Merseyside derby played at Goodison Park as the Toffees will move into a new stadium in the new campaign. It will be a historic meeting against their city rivals, and it’s no surprise that Everton have sold out all their tickets for the December fixture.

“For the final season at Goodison Park, there will also be changes to the Club’s ticketing policy in relation to print at home tickets and the Ticket Transfer Option for Season Ticket Members,” the Premier League side, recently acquired by Roma owners Friedkins, said in a statement.

“In an attempt to further protect supporters from touting, the ‘print at home’ option for match ticket purchases will no longer be available. Evertonians will be able to digitally download their ticket on to their mobile device.

“To further strengthen the Club’s measures against touting and ensure compliance with statutory venue regulations, Season Ticket Members using the Ticket Transfer option will now only be able to transfer tickets to Official Members (link to official members purchase page) within their network.”

There is still a way to get tickets for the Merseyside derby through LiveFootballTickets. One of the most reliable services for buying tickets online, it comes with a 150% money-back guarantee on all ticket purchases. This means a full refund plus the value to spend on another event. LiveFootballTickets has been running for over 15 years, serving more than 800,000 fans. Over 700 Everton-Liverpool tickets are still available on LiveFootballTickets from €212.

Chiesa injury explained

Chiesa “missed a complete pre-season, I said this many times, and going to a league where the intensity might even be higher than the Italian league,” Liverpool coach Arne Slot explained in October.

“We just faced the two Italian teams [Milan and Bologna in the Champions League], so I can say this now.”

“So that makes it difficult for him to make the step towards the intensity levels the rest of the team is at at the moment. That has not so much to do with the Italian league or the Premier League, that has more to do with him missing a complete pre-season and that is so difficult for every player – when the games are constantly there – to build them up towards the levels we are at.

“So, difficult to say, but it’s a big disappointment for him that he is going in and out of the training sessions all the time. I feel sorry for him.”

The ex-Fiorentina and Juventus star hasn’t played an international game for the Azzurri since last summer’s Euros.
