Kieffer Moore could be set to earn over £30,000-a-week with Wrexham AFC if he makes £4m move from Sheffield United.
Wrexham AFC could reportedly pay Kieffer Moore over £30,000-a-week if he makes the move from Sheffield United this summer.
Phil Parkinson's side have been on a memorable ride across the last four years, winning three consecutive promotions to take them from the National League into the Championship.
Now, they are preparing for life in the Championship and ramping up their efforts to give Parkinson the tools to continue this journey through the EFL.
Moore is one of the latest names to be linked with a move to The Racecourse Ground, with some hefty wages reportedly waiting for the Welshman if he makes the move from Sheffield United.
A report from Alan Nixon on his Patreon has outlined Wrexham's big push to sign Moore from Sheffield United this summer.
It's said that Wrexham could be paying £4m to sign the Wales international from the Blades, but in their efforts to convince the 32-year-old to make the move from last season's beaten play-off finalists to a newly-promoted side, they are willing to not just match his £30,000-a-week salary, they are actually willing to pay him more to become a part of their project.
Moore was a summer signing for Sheffield United and Chris Wilder last summer. He signed a three-year contract at Bramall Lane, and although the fee paid for him was kept under wraps, it is believed to have been in the region of £2m.
The striker made 30 appearances in the Championship last season and scored six goals. He played 90 minutes in the Championship play-off final, a game which Sheffield United lost in the 95th minute when Moore's loose pass was seized upon by Tommy Watson, whose goal secured a 2-1 win for Sunderland and their route to the Premier League.
Sheffield United are facing a second season in the Championship now, having sacked Wilder and appointed Ruben Selles as his successor.
Naturally, given Wrexham have gone from National League to Championship in three seasons, there's significant work to do on the squad as they take a step-up again.
Liberato Cacace and Danny Ward bolster their defensive and goalkeeping ranks, whilst Lewis O'Brien and George Thomason strengthen the midfield. However, it's in the final third where Parkinson has targeted key recruitment, with Paul Mullin departing to Wigan Athletic on loan.
Josh Windass has been signed on a free from Sheffield Wednesday, whilst Ryan Hardie has arrived from Plymouth Argyle (£700k).
Moore would add to that, but represents their most expensive attacking outlay in terms of transfer fees and potentially wages given Nixon's latest update.
As per Capology estimates, Jay Rodriguez is the top earner at Wrexham right now, taking home a reported weekly salary of £25,000. Moore's expected wages, should he sign, would take him clear of that figure, although where he ranks in the squad's top earners remains to be seen given that new arrivals Ward and O'Brien have had previous Premier League contracts.
