The Lilywhites goalkeeper has made the spot between the sticks his own at Deepdale over the past few years
With over 180 appearances in the second tier, Freddie Woodman has established himself as a Championship regular during his career.
With an initial spell at Swansea City preceding his time at Preston North End, the goalkeeper has been a constant presence between the sticks for much of the past six seasons, aside from a year’s spell at Newcastle United in the Premier League.
With that in mind, the 27-year-old has likely earned the right to be one of the top earners within the Deepdale dressing room of late, as he comes to what many consider to be the peak of his career.
Using Capology, we can see an estimate of what the shot-stopper is said to be earning a week, and see just how much it is supposed to be compared to his Lilywhites teammates.
Having featured in all but two league games over the previous two seasons, Woodman has become a prominent feature of this North End side, and that is reflected in his estimated £15,000 weekly wage.
That sum is only matched by midfielder Ali McCann at the Lancashire outfit in terms of permanent players employed by the club, with the likes of loanees Josh Bowler (£20,000) and Sam Greenwood (£30,000) said to earn more at their parent clubs.
That payment from Monday to Sunday equates to a figure in the region of £780,000 a year for the former Crawley Town loanee, with clean sheet bonuses and appearance related clauses likely to be added on top of that basic salary.
In terms of fellow Lilywhites top earners, defender Liam Lindsay is next on the list, with the centre-back said to be coining £14,000 every seven days, with Robbie Brady earning a shade less at £13,500.
Brad Potts can also count himself among the most remunerated players at the club, with his bank account seeing £12,000 added to it every time pay day comes along.
Jordan Storey’s £10,962 makes for rather unique reading, while Jack Whatmough and Andrew Hughes are the only other players to top a five-figure salary, with the pair earning a round £10,000 sum.
Championship strikers are normally the players raking in the big bucks, so goalkeepers don’t tend to earn as much as their outfield teammates, and Capology’s estimates reflect that figure.
While Patrick Bamford is the league’s highest earner with a £70,000 pay check every week, Leeds United teammate Illan Meslier reportedly receives £30,000 in comparison.
Burnley stopper James Trafford is also considered one of the top goalkeeping talents in the division - with Newcastle United said to be interested in his services over the summer - with his Turf Moor salary said to be £25,000 week to week.
New Sheffield United signing Michael Cooper can also consider himself one of the best paid gloveman in the division, with the Blades star said to receive £17,500 in his pay packet after his summer move from Plymouth Argyle.
While Woodman’s salary shrinks in comparison to those stars, the 27-year-old reportedly earns more than two of the second tier’s top talents, with Alex Palmer (£10,962) and Anthony Patterson (£10,000) earning less than he does at Deepdale.
