The central defender is at the end of his deal at the Swansea.com Stadium and a new contract is on the table, but he is yet to accept the Welsh side's offer.

Darling's contractual situation following three impressive campaigns in South Wales after his 2022 arrival from MK Dons has seemingly alerted a clutch of suitors, and both Birmingham and Wrexham have been linked with a summer move for the 25-year-old in the wake of their respective promotions to the Championship.

The ex-Cambridge United defender made 39 appearances for Swansea in the 2024/25 Championship campaign, scoring five goals.

Darling, however, may well have played his final match in SA1 as the vultures continue to circle. But how much is he currently earning at Swansea? Football League World takes a closer look...

Harry Darling's estimated Swansea City contract

Darling's contract, which was first penned back in the summer of 2022, is estimated to see him earn a weekly wage of £19,231. That's according to Capology, a site which provides estimated information on player salaries.

On an annual basis, the popular defender is earning £1,000,000 and he is the highest earner in Alan Sheehan's squad after long-serving stalwart Kyle Naughton, who is only on a marginally higher wage and is leaving the club at the end of his deal in June.

Darling's wage and ranking reflects his importance at Swansea, and the club will have surely offered a fairly-handsome pay rise in a bid to get him to commit his long-term future to SA1.

Swansea City's Harry Darling could receive a lucrative pay rise at Birmingham City or Wrexham AFC

It's easy to see why Darling could be tempted by either Birmingham or Wrexham.

The two clubs, who both went up automatically from League One this season, are on similar trajectories with eye-watering financial backing, bags of ambition and aggressive recruitment drives which enable them to punch above their divisional weight with serious pulling power.

Both are expected to compete with newly-relegated Championship sides - namely Leicester City, Southampton and Ipswich Town - for targets this summer and Birmingham, as revealed by chairman Tom Wagner, will have the highest revenue of any side not in receipt of parachute payments in the second-tier's history.
