Birmingham City are sure to be one of the most box office teams in the Championship in 2025/26.
The Blues are hoping to cause some noise in the second tier next season, as the club is riding the wave of success both on and off the pitch.
Chris Davies guided his team to a 111-point League One title-winning campaign last term, and backed by highly ambitious co-owner Tom Wagner, Brum have a clear roadmap that leads to the top of English football.
Birmingham City is a sleeping giant no more, and as such, they will no doubt be attracting the Sky Sports cameras on many occasions in 2025/26.
But, how much are the club set to earn from Sky Sports' TV deal next season? Football League World investigates...
There has never been more money circulating around the Championship than there is right now.
Whether that's through the league's star players routinely being sold for big-money fees, incredibly wealthy owners taking over its clubs, or through lucrative TV deals, the second tier of English football has become a financial powerhouse in its own right.
Indeed, with the insertion of both Birmingham City and Wrexham into the division in 2025/26, even more eyes across the world are going to be tuning into the Championship in order to witness the latest chapters in their respective journeys.
So, how much can Blues expect to receive as part of Sky Sports' TV deal next year? Well, ahead of the 2024/25 season, Sky Sports announced they'd signed a new five-year deal with the EFL to broadcast over 1,000 games a season.
That deal was worth guaranteed payments totalling up to £895m, with £40m in marketing benefits alongside that.
A recent report from WalesOnline puts the figure received by second tier clubs from the Sky Sports TV deal at around £3-4m per season, on top of per-match fees equating to somewhere in the region of £500k-£1.5m per season.
Birmingham City quite simply blew the competition away in League One last season.
St Andrew's became the fortress of yesteryear once again, with the Blues going unbeaten in the league at their historic home last term.
Their 84 league goals scored was the best in the third tier in 2024/25, as was their 1.8 goals scored per game, 0.7 conceded per game, 66.9 per cent average possession, and 478.2 accurate passes per game averages, per FotMob.
In short, Birmingham City were must-watch television in League One, and they'll no doubt be looking to bring that attitude with them into the Championship next season.
Ambition is seeping out of every corridor at the club at this moment in time, as they won't simply want to survive in the second tier next year, they'll want to thrive.
As a result, Birmingham will undoubtedly find themselves at the centre of Sky Sports' attention on numerous occasions, as they look to document what could be yet another memorable campaign under this new era at the football club.
