Barcelona’s long-standing interest in Luis Diaz could finally lead to action, thanks to Liverpool’s latest move in the transfer market.
The English club are nearing a deal for German talent Florian Wirtz, and this shift could directly affect Diaz’s place in the squad.
According to SPORT, the Colombian winger may now be on the exit list at Anfield, opening the door for a possible switch to Camp Nou.
Diaz has been on Barça’s radar for months. Hansi Flick likes his attacking style, ability to take on defenders, and his experience at the highest level.
However, two main things had put the deal on hold, which are Liverpool’s lack of movement in the market and the high price tag. Now, both of those roadblocks could be fading.
Wirtz’s arrival is about more than just adding another player. With a price close to €150 million, Liverpool need to make space in their squad and on their wage bill.

This makes Diaz a likely candidate to leave. His current contract remains unsigned, and reports from his camp suggest he may be ready to move on, especially with his role set to shrink under the new setup.
Barcelona are not rushing into anything yet. They are waiting for Liverpool to officially confirm Wirtz’s signing before making a move.
Once that happens, the English club will begin reshaping their squad—and that’s when Barça plan to step in.
Liverpool originally valued Diaz at around €85 million, but that could now drop. With limited room in the starting lineup and the summer window heating up, the Reds might be willing to negotiate.
Barça know that Diaz dreams of playing at Camp Nou, and they are ready to take advantage if the opportunity arises.
