Juventus are on the verge of completing their third deal of the January transfer window, as Chelsea full-back Renato Veiga is expected to fly over Italy by Saturday to complete his move to the Bianconeri. Here is a look at how Thiago Motta could line his team up with his three new additions.

Juventus have had to be strategic in the January transfer window. The club spent heavily over the summer on the likes of Teun Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez, which left little room in the budget to play with over the winter period.

However, after defenders Bremer and Juan Cabal both suffered cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries earlier in the season, and with just one fit and available centre-forward in Dusan Vlahovic in the squad, it soon became apparent that new additions were required.

As a result, Juventus have largely been shopping in the loan market. Kolo Muani has joined on a straight loan deal until the end of the 2024-25 season, while Renato Veiga is set to join on loan at a cost of €5m. Alberto Costa has joined on a permanent deal worth €12m, which Juventus will pay over four instalments.

Thiago Motta is expected to continue with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation for the remainder of the 2024-25 Serie A season.

The full-back position has been massively strengthened, and now includes Alberto Costa, Nicolo Savona, Andrea Cambiaso and likely Renato Veiga by the end of the weekend.

There is also finally competition for spaces up front with Kolo Muani and Vlahovic, although the Frenchman has hinted that he is also capable of covering out wide if required.

Possible Juventus line-up (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Savona/Alberto Costa, Gatti, Kalulu, Veiga/Cambiaso; Locatelli, Thuram; Conceicao, Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Kolo Muani/Vlahovic.
