Honduras victorious in opening day of Boys’ Under-15 Championship

MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship kicked off on Saturday with the opening matches in League A at the FCRF Federation Fields in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Honduras was victorious against Panama, while El Salvador and Nicaragua split the points between themselves.
El Salvador 0-0 Nicaragua
El Salvador and Nicaragua played to a scoreless draw in Group A of League A.
The sides were unable to break the deadlock through full time, and each took a point to start their respective campaigns.
El Salvador will play Panama to begin Sunday’s proceedings. Nicaragua will meet Mexico in the second encounter of the day.
Panama 1-2 Honduras
Honduras won 2-1 against Panama to take the lead in the Group A of League A.
Hendry Ciguenza handed Honduras the lead in the 15’ with a rocket to the top-right corner from a free kick execution to score the first goal of the tournament.
Said Canales doubled the lead for Los Catrachos in the 23’ with a left-footed finish inside the box.
Captain Alfredo Maduro struck from close range in the 30’ to cut one back for Panama.
Panama will face El Salvador on Sunday. Honduras will resume play on Monday against Nicaragua.
