Davide Ancelotti was a key piece in the Real Madrid coaching staff during Carlo Ancelotti’s second stint at the club.
Son of the revered Carlo, Davide was a vital presence on the touchline for Real Madrid, often responsible for drawing up tactics and analysing the opponents.
Davide Ancelotti left his role as assistant manager at the end of the season. He followed his father to Brazil, where he has been serving as an assistant manager up until now.
However, it appears Davide Ancelotti is all set to kickstart his own coaching career as he is closing in on a move to Botafogo.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has even given his customary ‘here we go’ for the deal.
This comes on the back of recent reports, which linked him with a move to Rangers.

The Italian tactician was reportedly close to joining the Scottish giants. But it appears the move did not materialise, with Ancelotti now set for a new stint in Brazil.
Ancelotti appears to have already agreed to Botafogo’s terms as he looks to take up the first real job of his coaching career after serving as Carlo’s right-hand man at Real Madrid.
Botafogo were recently involved in the FIFA Club World Cup, even reaching the Round of 16 before being beaten by Palmeiras.
The club are currently sitting eighth in the Brazilian Serie A and were managed by Renato Paiva. The club sacked Paiva rather unceremoniously after the coach did not allow owner John Textor to interfere in picking the team.
Now, Davide Ancelotti will be designated as the man to lead the charge at Botafogo as they look to inch up in the league table and compete for the top four places.
