Manchester City lead the way in the Barclays Women’s Super League’s scoring and assist charts heading into the latest international break.
Gareth Taylor’s side sit second in the table having tasted defeat for the first time this season in our most recent WSL encounter against Chelsea.
However, it’s been a strong start to the campaign with Lauren Hemp and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, two of the driving forces behind that success, leading the way in terms of goals and assists across the entire league.
Below is a quick rundown on their WSL achievements so far this season…
City’s creator in chief before sustaining a knee injury in early November, Hemp has been one of the WSL’s standout performers in 2024/25.
Combining devastating pace with incredible agility and vision, the England international has registered five assists in seven appearances so far this season.
When you add her two goals this campaign against West Ham and Aston Villa to her tally, then Hemp’s goal involvements average out at one per game.
In total, the 24-year-old has created 26 chances, one of just ten in the WSL with an assist to their name to hit double figures, with Katie McCabe the only other player in the entire league to reach 20.
That averages out at over four chances created per 90 minutes – a tally bettered only by Chelsea’s Oriane Jean-Francois.
To put Hemp’s remarkable form into context, she’s only two assists off her return for the entirety of 2023/24 – a campaign where she was once again a key figure for City.
Last season’s WSL Golden Boot winner has picked up where she left off in 2024/25, leading the charts with seven goals in eight appearances.
The Jamaican is currently averaging just 89 minutes per goal in the WSL, a rate that’s 24 minutes better than her closest rival, Chelsea’s Guro Reiten.
Shaw plundered three of those goals in our most recent home league fixture, a 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, which also saw her break new ground in the league.
Indeed, the Jamaican’s latest treble saw her break the WSL’s hat-trick record, surpassing City team-mate Vivianne Miedema in the process.
And to top it all off, when you add Shaw’s assist against West Ham in October to her tally, she’s currently averaging a goal involvement per appearance in the league, just like Hemp.
