Giorgi Mamardashvilli will complete his move to Liverpool next summer as he continues to excel for his club and country this season.

Tipped to be one of the best up-and-coming goalkeepers of this generation, he has demonstrated his capabilities for his club Valencia and for Georgia at the euros last summer.

Pulling off tremendous stops as well as being a commanding presence for both club and country, he brings with him the potential to be the foundation of the Slot era in the next few years.

Ibou Konate is currently the BEST centre-back in the Premier League!

Liverpool’s recent success with goalkeepers has been fantastic in recent years, with Allison and Caiohmin Kelleher both receiving plaudits for their consistently solid performances.

Allison especially has been the bedrock of the Klopp era, however, his long-term future remains uncertain with suggestions he could have left the club for Saudi Arabia in the summer.

Whenever he does leave, it is obvious he is closer to the end of his time than the beginning, with the same being said of Kelleher who has expressed his desire to leave in the pursuit of first-team opportunities.

Talking to a Valencia-based journalist Nacho Sanchez, Dan wanted to know a little bit more about how Mamardashvilli is getting on this season, what he will bring to this Liverpool side and just how high his ceiling is.

With lots of praise and plenty to improve on, Sanchez offered Liverpool fans a sense of excitement about Mamardashvilli’s capabilities.

He said: “He Looks as though he has been a standout performer, kind of different from the (Valencia) team. He is a fully focused player who keeps his eye on the ball.”

Producing some fantastic saves against the likes of Portugal in the euros and Getafe most recently in La Liga his one-on-one abilities as well as his reflexes draw similarities to what we have seen from Allison over recent years.

As sad as it may be to admit, time is more on Mamardashvilli’s side than it is on Allison’s, however, it is clear Liverpool have selected a potential successor who draws many similarities to Allison.

Sanchez said the 24-year-old will need to adjust to certain methods ahead of his switch to Anfield…

“At corners, he sometimes hesitates too much – if he was at Liverpool he would be training this.”

While Allison remains at Liverpool he would be a fantastic mentor for Mamardashvilli as he strives to develop his game. A player who has shown unwavering signs of potential but has work to do, it is comforting to hear that he has approached the remainder of his spell with Valencia and his future with Liverpool with a strong mentality.

Sanchez added: “Mentally he thinks he owes it to the people to show a good level, wherever he is playing.”
