Juventus are the latest club to be linked with a move for Renato Veiga and they’ve entered talks with Chelsea according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues signed Veiga in the summer from Swiss side FC Basel for £12m to predominantly be back-up to Marc Cucurella, but he can also play at centre back and in midfield.

The 21-year-old has become a full Portugal international since making the switch to Stamford Bridge, but it appears he could be heading for the exit door just six months after joining.

Juventus the latest club to show interest in Veiga

The Blues are looking to move on a number of players this month, with the likes of Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka both told they can leave the club.

One player who wasn’t expected to leave was Veiga, but it’s believed he’s keen for a new chapter in his career as he wants more minutes in his preferred centre back position.

Borussia Dortmund are thought to have submitted an official loan offer for the Portuguese, although Chelsea are said to want a permanent sale.

The Blues are believed to want up to £29m for Veiga, who is also attracting interest from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, who are said to really like his profile.

Romano has now reported that a third club have joined the race for Veiga and he provided an update on the situation.

He took to X.com and said:

‘EXCL: Juventus have entered the race to sign Renato Veiga, talks have started with Chelsea. Borussia Dortmund also remain in talks with Chelsea, after initial proposal sent last week.

“Lloyd Kelly and Renato Veiga are both in Juventus list as they want two CBs.”

Veiga has made seven Premier League appearances for Chelsea, starting just once, but he’s fared better in the Conference League where he’s appeared in all six games of the league phase, scoring twice.

He will likely find himself on the bench once again against Wolves on Monday night and it will be interesting to see what happens with his future.
