According to the Croatian tportal outlet, both Qarabag FK and Trabzonspor are interested in Fortuna Sittard’s Alen Halilovic. The Azerbaijani club have reportedly contacted the 29-year-old playmaker’s club regarding a deal.
Halilovic’s contract runs until the summer of 2026. However, it appears the Croatian star could make a move this summer. According to tportal, Halilovic wanted to return to Spain, but there has been no concrete interest from Spain so far. He previously played in Spain for Sporting Gijón and Las Palmas.
Halilovic is attracting interest from Turkey. Trabzonspor is in the market for the Croatian’s signature, but the Turkish club has not yet contacted Halilovic’s camp. Qarabag has, however, made initial contact with the Fortuna star’s entourage. Both parties are currently in negotiations.
Last season, Halilovic was one of Fortuna’s standouts. In 28 matches, the playmaker scored two goals and provided four assists. Rafael van der Vaart was so impressed with Halilovic that he even recommended him as a potential signing for Ajax.
