Erling Haaland is one of the greatest goalscorers of his or any generation in the history of world football.
It’s an undeniable fact that’s further highlighted by the latest landmark in the 24-year-old’s phenomenal career to date.
His goal at Arsenal on Sunday was his 250th in senior club football after just 313 matches for Bryne, Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and City.
That is a quicker rate than any of the most iconic forwards of the 21st century, including multiple-time Ballon d’Or winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi took 327 games to reach 250 club goals at Barcelona, while Kylian Mbappe got there in 332 matches across his spells at Monaco and PSG.
Harry Kane (430), Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski (both 451) also took significantly more appearances to get to a quarter of a thousand strikes at the start of their careers.
Earlier this season, Haaland became the 19th man to amass 100 City goals – needing just 105 games to hit three figures.
He is now on 115 strikes in a City shirt, after 86 in 89 games for Dortmund, 29 in 27 for Salzburg and 20 in 50 for Molde.
Haaland is also already Norway’s record scorer, netting 38 times in 39 caps.
Since joining City in the summer of 2022, he has broken a host of records and claimed numerous personal honours - including Premier League Golden Boots in both of his full campaigns to date.
The first of those comprised of 36 strikes in total, which is a record for number of goals in a single Premier League season.
Haaland now has 82 goals in the Premier League in 90 matches and remains in the hunt to become just the third man to win the Golden Boot in three successive seasons.
He also needed just 35 games to score 40 Champions League goals, making him the speediest to that mark and doing so younger than any other player.
Our No.9 now has 47 goals in 47 appearances in Europe’s leading club competition, placing him joint-13th in terms of leading scorers in its history. His rate of a goal per game is better than anyone else in the top 50.
With six major honours already won at City and a fresh contract until 2034, it’s clear the Norwegian is hungry for more.
Congratulations to Erling on this latest milestone!
