Erling Haaland this evening joined supporters for a memorable night in aid of the Club’s charity, City in the Community (CITC).
The intimate ‘Evening With’ event, designed in collaboration with Erling himself, welcomed 40 guests for a specially curated dinner, private Q&A with the Norwegian star, and individual photo opportunities.
The evening also featured a light-hearted ‘Question of Erling’ quiz, inspiring words from a CITC participant, and an auction of one-of-a-kind memorabilia — all helping to raise vital funds for the charity’s work.
A select number of free tickets were reserved for fans who attended last week’s ‘City are Back’ event at the Joie Stadium, with names drawn at random on the day.
The lucky winners were able to enjoy the dinner and meet Erling at no cost, while proceeds from our other attendees will directly support CITC programmes, which use football to empower healthier lives across Greater Manchester.
Reflecting on the event, Haaland said: “Manchester’s a special place for me, and I’ve seen for myself what City in the Community means to people here.
“It was great to be part of the night, to hear some amazing stories, and to share it with fans who care as much as I do.
“Things like this show how football can really change lives, and I’m grateful to everyone who came along and made it such a good night.”
Speaking on the night, CITC CEO, Michael Geary, added: “Erling has been a great supporter of City in the Community in recent years, including making special appearances at local schools and early years programmes.
“His engagement with tonight’s event has an incredible impact on our fundraising calendar and I’d like to thank him for taking time out of his personal schedule to join us.
“We are also extremely grateful to those who attended the event, many of whom have been supporting City in the Community for a long time. Together, we can make a positive difference to people living across Greater Manchester.”
