The key factor, as we all probably knew, was his wish to play regularly and with that looking less likely with the return of Kieran Tierney, returning to Celtic after six years at Arsenal.
“The toughest decision I’ve had in my career… I wanted to play regularly, and that’s probably the big factor,” Greg Taylor explained. The former Celtic star said that he is ‘incredibly grateful’ for the six incredible years he enjoyed wearing the Hoops and took time to go through all those working in the background to make Celtic the club that it is.

Greg Taylor’s message to the Celtic support: “Thank you for your support. It was so important to me and my family, coming from Scotland you understand straight away the demand is to be successful so I’m glad that I could have played a small part in bringing success to the club and for them. They travelled everywhere for us and it never went unnoticed.

Taylor talked about missing the intensity of the big games in the Champions League, Glasgow Derby matches against theRangers and the inevitable cup matches at Hampden and factored that in with his choice of PAOK as his next club, insisting that there is a similar passion for the game and intense rivalries in Greek football with multiple sides having a realistic chance of winning the title.

Greg Taylor was also asked if he thought that Celtic would win the league this season.
“I hope so, certainly. It’s always difficult at the start of a season to know where it goes but Celtic have been incredibly consistent for so many years now with an amazing manager and amazing staff with a great group of players who are hungry for more success. I think that’s the important part. I know that not one player in that changing room has lost that hunger so it will be difficult to come out on top of Celtic.”

“Always played to the max ‘re ability. Gave 100% for the Champions. Played the inverted full back role as good anybody in the league. All the best and good luck, Greg.”
“Good guy, played for the jersey and was an honest professional. Played well for the most part and would have preferred he stayed. However I’d like to stay where he is off to, lovely weather all year round. I hope he does well!”
“Good luck Greg great having you at Celtic.”
