Roma’s latest signing, Pierluigi Gollini, discussed his move to the Italian capital from Atalanta.
In his first interview with the Giallorossi, the Italian shot-stopper said, “I am very happy to be here.”
“I came to Trigoria 7/8 years ago with the Under 21 and to return here today as a Roma player is special. I perceive an excellent environment.”
“First of all, I thank the Friedkin family. There were talks this summer but the operation was not possible. I am happy that we are here now. I am happy to be here, I know many of the guys in this group. I am sure that I will feel good in this team, in this city and with these wonderful fans.”
“Mancini, Cristante and El Shaarawy were the first to write to me, to ask me if it was true. They are friends, guys I have known for many years even off the pitch. This will make it easier for me to settle in even if I know I won’t have any problems. They are three fantastic guys.”
“I am happy to be here and I hope to stay for a long time. I will try to give my contribution, not only on the pitch, but also in the locker room. When you play for a team, you have to have a strong attachment to Roma. Here there are guys like Pellegrini, Mancio and Cristante who know what it means.”
“Playing in Rome is important, it is a privilege. I will have to show that I am a player from Rome and give a hand.”
“For me it’s a great opportunity. Roma is a top club and place, when you come from poor opponents it’s never easy. Now I’ll have the opportunity to have this responsibility, I’m sure that with work and dedication I’ll be able to have my say.”
“I will give my all. On and off the pitch, wearing the Roma shirt and representing it has a certain weight. I will give my all to make the fans proud and to help my teammates live life to the fullest.”
