First half highlights:
5th minute: The first big chance of the game falls to the Italians. Delprato plays the ball through to Pellegrino, who shoots from a tight angle, but Backhaus comes out of his goal to make the save.
6th minute: Backhaus saves from Pellegrino again! The Parma man heads against the post, before the Werder goalkeeper denies him on the follow-up.
36th minute: A first good opportunity for the Green-Whites. Schmid initially looks for support, but then decides to go for goal from a tight angle. The ball flies just over the bar.
49th minute: Bernabé loses the ball in midfield, which allows Werder to threaten again. Schmid plays a low ball-in towards the far post, but Suzuki gets there first to prevent Grüll from striking.

Second half highlights:
71st minute: Covic receives the ball in the box and lets fly with the outside of the boot. Valenti deflects it out for a corner.
78th minute: Opitz has to lead the attack all on his own after picking the ball up on the left wing. He still manages to dribble into a shooting position, however, and Suzuki has to make the save.
120th minute +1: Full time. It ends in a goalless draw. On Friday, 1st August, SV Werder will play a double bill of friendlies against TSG Hoffenheim in Schwaz.
Summary: After Parma had the first few big chances, the Green-Whites began to take control of the game more and more. They were just missing that finishing touch which would have allowed them to take the lead. After the eleven changes at half time, much of the action played out in midfield. In the end, it was an intensive friendly outing, and every player got some minutes under their belt.
