Glenn Murray has been talking about Newcastle United.
The striker was signed by Eddie Howe in September 2015 after Bournemouth’s promotion to the Premier League, Howe taking them from the verge of dropping into non-league, all the way through the divisions to the top tier.
Glenn Murray was working for BBC Radio 5 Live on Tuesday night’s match.
He couldn’t have been more impressed after watching it end Arsenal 0 Newcastle 2.
Glenn Murray full of praise for Eddie Howe and Newcastle United.
Glenn Murray speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live:
Glenn Murray during the match:
“Looking at Eddie Howe’s subs, he is inviting Arsenal on. It is starting to feel like Arsenal have run out of ideas.
This Newcastle defence is resolute and strong, but above all else it is comfortable.”
“Are Newcastle playing a five-five?
Scrap 4-4-2 – two fives is the way to go!”
“That’s the 10th corner Arsenal have had and Newcastle have defended valiantly on every single one of them.”
“Arsenal have had 22 shots this evening and only three of them have been on target.”
Glenn Murray post-match after Arsenal 0 Newcastle 2:
“A gritty performance from Newcastle.
They dug deep in that second half to keep Arsenal out.
Arsenal could not break their backline. A top performance from Newcastle.”
“I’ve played under Eddie Howe and he is a coach as well as a manager.
That was born from his journey at Bournemouth.”
“Newcastle deserved it.
Newcastle were effective in both boxes and that’s exactly what Arsenal weren’t.
Things are looking good at Newcastle.”
