Girona have seen their injury list stretch to 12 absent first team players following a midweek Copa del Rey win.

The Catalans eased past fifth tier CD Extremadura with a 4-0 victory away from home but they lost Dutch forward Arnaut Danjuma to an early injury.

The Villarreal loanee is now expected to miss the next five weeks of action, via reports from Marca, with fellow Dutchman Gabriel Misehouy out for six weeks with a similar hamstring issue.

Despite some squad returns for Michel Sanchez, the overall fitness picture at the Estadi Montilivi is frustrating, ahead of a crunch run of games in domestic and UEFA Champions League action.

Danjuma has featured regularly since his arrival in Catalonia with five successive starts prior to this injury.

He could now miss six matches either side of the November international break, including a midweek European trip to PSV Eindhoven, and a home clash with Sturm Graz on November 27.
