AIA has put Gianluca Manganiello in charge of AC Milan’s important game against Lazuo tomorrow evening. A defeat would certainly put the Rossoneri’s top-four hopes to an end, so there is a lot at stake.
Most would agree that the top-four train has left the station already, following the defeat against Bologna mid-week, but a win against Lazio tomorrow could improve the situation slightly. With that said, a defeat would certainly put an end to any realistic hopes.
AIA announced a few days ago (via LaLazioSiamoNoi) that Manganiello will be in charge of Milan’s game against Lazio. The 43-year-old has officiated eight games involving the Rossoneri before, and the record is rather positive from the San Siro side’s point of view: 5 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat.
Manganiello has awarded one penalty in these games to Milan, while he has also handed two red cards to the club. One of them came in the 1-3 defeat against Sassuolo in the 2021-22 (Scudetto) season, with Alessio Romagnoli getting a straight red for a last-man foul.
There hasn’t been a lot of controversy involving Manganiello, though, so the feeling is that we will see a game without too much interference from the officiating. Maurizio Mariani certainly put himself in the spotlight during the game against Bologna earlier this week…
