Gianluca Mancini: “We must be meaner despite tonight’s win.” | OneFootball

Roma defender Gianluca Mancini did not sound fully satisfied with the Giallorossi’s display in tonight’s 3-2 win over Porto.

Despite Roma advancing to the round of 16 of the Europa League, Mancini pointed out some flaws in the Giallorossi’s performance.

“We played a good game, but it wasn’t always controlled the way we would have wanted it,” he said to Sky Sport after the game.

“We can’t suffer like this with 11 men against 10. We conceded too much, including the goal and the post.”

“When we get into those situations we have to be even more aggressive and think that we were still eleven against eleven.”

“The important thing, however, was to win and we did it well. Playing good football and being superior to Porto.”

“If we had been 2-1 in 2-2, it would have been tough. The games are never over. We misread some situations. We have to manage it better to suffer less. But all the boys played a great game and we are happy with the win.”
