Roma director Florent Ghisolfi insists the Giallorossi are not in a hurry to reach an agreement over Mile Svilar’s contract extension: ‘It expires in 2027, but he’s an important goalkeeper.’
The Giallorossi host Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico tonight.
“It’s an important game, the competition is fierce, and the fixture list is tricky. We must give our all tonight and pay attention to details,” Ghisolfi told DAZN (via TMW) before kick-off.
Claudio Ranieri said on Friday that earning a Champions League spot was unrealistic for the Giallorossi, who must hope for collapse from many of their direct rivals.
“I believe in the Champions League, the coach was realistic,” insisted Ghisolfi.
“I think that with this team and this coach, the target is to return to Europe. We’ll give our all.”
Lastly, Ghisolfi spoke about contract negotiations with Svilar.
“We are talking to his agent, and he’s focused on the pitch. We must not be in a hurry; his contract expires in 2027, but he’s an important goalkeeper.”
