Alphonso Davies’ situation has taught Real Madrid that it is never over until it really is. After all, the Canadian international had all but signed for Los Blancos a few months ago but his future is now again wide open.
Not making the same mistake again, the men in white are now maintaining radars on multiple right-back options despite Trent Alexander-Arnold being their top priority and Juanlu Sanchez is one such profile that interests them.
The 21-year-old Sevilla star has been on the radar of several top European clubs in recent transfer windows and it is only considered a matter of time before he makes a giant leap.
As relayed in a recent update by AS, Los Blancos continue to maintain a strict eye on the 21-year-old defender’s situation.

However, RB Leipzig have now emerged as potential rivals and are keenly interested in signing the Sevilla star on loan with a purchase clause at the end of the season.
Los Nervionenses, for their part, are willing to part ways with the star for €10 million and could accept the move as early as this month if the German club agrees. Needless to say, this would be a massive blow for Real Madrid.
Despite being a right-back by trade, the youngster has featured more in midfield and attack for Sevilla this season and already has 13 La Liga appearances to his name.
In that duration, he has racked up two goals, two assists, 0.6 key passes, and close to four defensive actions per game.
While initially expected to stay in Spain for the rest of the season, new doubts about his future this month are worrying for Los Blancos who may well be in half a mind to hijack the operation for a nominal fee.
