While AC Milan might not be having many problems as a team when it comes to scoring goals, the strikers within the squad are a concern.

As this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes, Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham are the two most representative faces of the summer transfer window that the Milan directors conducted.

With the arrival of the two strikers – from Atletico Madrid and Roma respectively – the management completely overhauled the department after the farewell of Olivier Giroud, who decided to head to the MLS.

However, Morata and Abraham have in fact scored six goals – three each – which is two less than Giroud alone had at this point last year. There has been a real issue for each finding the net regularly, which is an issue.

It must also be said that Milan’s way of playing has completely changed with the arrival of Paulo Fonseca, especially if you consider the fact that the forwards are more involved in the build-up play, but Milan’s two centre-forwards pale in comparison to other duos.

The Spaniard has not scored in the league since September 27 against Lecce while the Englishman has not scored since the dramatic away game in Cagliari on November 11, though they have each scored more recently in the Champions League.

The paper compares Morata and Abraham’s combined goals with Juventus (Vlahovic and Nico Gonzalez who total 10), Fiorentina (Kean and Kouamé total 13), Lazio (Castellanos and Dia are on 13), and Inter (Thuram and Arnautovic are on 11, with Lautaro struggling).

Atalanta are ahead too (Retegui and Zaniolo, total 15), but Antonio Conte’s Napoli are the exception to the rule in terms of teams above the Rossoneri, because the Lukaku-Simeone duo have netted six goals.
