AC Milan have been reported to be signing a new midfielder regularly in the lead-up to January, and it seems the Rossoneri have made initial steps to add a young talent.
The mid-season mercato is difficult for a handful of reasons, but there are two that stand out above any others. Firstly, there is often a raised price for players, simply due to the time of purchase, and this is especially the case with starting talents.
Additionally, there is the issue of actual talent. A player could have a phenomenal start to a season, but then trail off massively for the other half, if not longer, so this is something that must be considered.
The mercato will not deter Milan though, and they will seemingly make a move for a midfielder in January – given the position, again, looks weak.
Several names have been discussed, but discussions have taken place with an intermediary ‘very close to Reda Belahyane, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. On Wednesday, Geoffrey Moncada held a meeting at Casa Milan with the agent, who has been an interest for the Rossoneri for some time.
Marseille and other clubs from outside Italy are interested, but if the Rossoneri are able to move quickly, then a deal should be possible with a valuation of €12 million.
