Gazzetta: Sancho decision to reject Roma influenced by love interest | OneFootball

La Gazzetta dello Sport have launched a sensational claim that Jadon Sancho’s decision to turn down a move to Roma was largely influenced by a rumoured romantic relationship with US rapper Saweetie.

For several weeks, Roma have been attempting to pull off a deal for the former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund winger.

The Giallorossi sent sporting director Ricky Massara to London on Tuesday to hold talks with the player’s agent, but the club has still not received the player’s approval, which leaves them looking at a potential deal for Chelsea’s Tyrique George instead, who is represented by the same agent as Sancho.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma were prepared to offer Manchester United a total package worth €23m for Sancho, who is into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford. The Giallorossi were reportedly prepared to pay the Englishman a salary just shy of €6m per season.

However, despite their best attempts, Sancho has still not given his approval to a move to Roma.

Gazzetta: Saweetie relationship influencing Sancho’s transfer decisions

Now, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there have been suggestions that a potential love interest is part of the reason behind Sancho’s decision to turn down a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

The Pink Paper claims that Sancho is romantically involved with the US rapper Saweetie, and that he has flown out to visit her three times per month in recent times. Wednesday’s report claims that the relationship began at the end of the last calendar year.

La Gazzetta dello Sport goes as far as claiming that Sancho could even decide to abandon a playing career in Europe, with moves to Roma and Borussia Dortmund now looking unlikely, in order to move to the USA.

If a move away from Manchester United does not materialise before the end of the summer transfer window in less than a week, Sancho is at risk of being left out of Ruben Amorim’s squad altogether.
