AC Milan clinched three very important points in their game against Empoli last night, finding the back of the net three times. As highlighted by the newspapers, it was about time the Rossoneri put in a strong performance.
It has been a tough start to the season for Paulo Fonseca and his men, at least domestically, and yesterday’s win will hopefully put them on the right trajectory. Above all, it was very nice to see a clean sheet and that was largely thanks to the centre-backs, but also the team performance.
Today’s newspapers praised Milan on the front pages, as well as Tijjani Reijnders who was the undisputed MOTM after two goals. Alvaro Morata also broke his goal drought in the fog, so there were many positives from the game.
Gazzetta dello Sport
😅 “About time. Milan light up at San Siro.”
🔥 “Morata and super Reijnders (brace), the Rossoneri bounce back. Empoli beaten.”
Tuttosport
💡 “Morata-Reijnders light up Milan in the fog. Empoli beaten, Alvaro breaks his drought.”
🗣 “Fonseca: ‘We could have scored 6-7 goals, this is how you play as a team’.”
Corriere dello Sport
🙌 “Milan, 3-0 against Empoli. Reijnders the magician.”
⚽ “Morata opened the scoring, then the brace of the Dutchman.”
