AC Milan are in Serie A action against Bologna at San Siro tonight, in what is a first course ahead of the main next Wednesday: the Coppa Italia final.
Given that Milan are rooted down in ninth place in the table, the league game is not as much of a must-win for Sergio Conceicao’s side compared to for Bologna, who are one point outside the Champions League spots.
In the build-up to the game there has been talk of a plot to ‘disguise’ Milan so as not to give too much away ahead of that final at the Stadio Olimpico. However, more recent reports are suggesting fewer changes, perhaps to try keep building continuity.
This morning’s newspapers in Italy have looked ahead to Act I of II at San Siro tonight.
Corriere dello Sport: “Final call for Gimenez and Dallinga. At San Siro (20:45) Champions League play-off, the final of the Coppa Italia on Wednesday.”
Tuttosport: “Milan-Bologna, two games in five days. Better the… Cup. Tonight and Wednesday. Italiano also playing for fourth place, but the priority is lifting the trophy in Rome.”
QS: “Euro duel: Act One. Milan-Bologna at 20:45, the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday.”
