Galatasaray have reportedly reached an agreement over personal terms with Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, even as he continues to be linked to Manchester United.

United’s goalkeeping department could be subjected to a radical overhaul this summer, amidst uncertainty over the futures of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.

Onana and Bayindir were both unconvincing in the 2024/25 season, making numerous high-profile mistakes that dearly cost United in games. Onana has been mentioned to be on the radar of Saudi Pro League clubs, while a return to Turkey for Bayindir has been mooted.

Recently asked about whether he could be on the move this summer, Onana gave a cryptic answer, seemingly suggesting that there is a chance his time at Old Trafford may have come to an end.

A report covered by The Peoples Person claimed that United are eyeing Ter Stegen as a potential replacement for Onana.

Ter Stegen missed a huge chunk of the season with a knee injury, which limited him to just nine appearances for Barcelona.

He remains contracted to the Blaugrana until June 2028 but there is speculation surrounding his future, with his employers believed to be open to offloading him.

The Catalan giants are on the brink of signing Joan Garcia from Espanyol and this could make Ter Stegen surplus to requirements under Hansi Flick.

It emerged that Galatasaray had entered the fray for Ter Stegen and now, according to Turkish news outlet Fanatik, they’ve has contact with the German shot-stopper and even agreed terms of a contract.

“Galatasaray reached an agreement with André Ter Stegen.”

“The transfer is expected to be finalised if Barcelona does not demand a high transfer fee.”

This is corroborated by SPORT, who add that Galatasaray have offered Ter Stegen €5m (£4.2m) net per season. Negotiations with Barcelona are expected to start imminently.
