Fulham have approached Arsenal about a deal to bring Reiss Nelson back to Craven Cottage.

Standard Sport understands Fulham have expressed an interest in reuniting with the 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Marco Silva’s side, via either a permanent transfer or a second loan deal.

The structure of the deal is yet to be finalised, with talks between all parties still ongoing.

Arsenal depart for their pre-season tour of Asia on Saturday, and reports elsewhere have suggested that they could like a deal to be wrapped up by that point if possible.

Nelson, a Gunners academy graduate, made 12 appearances for the Cottagers in all competitions last season, scoring twice, before his campaign was cut short by a hamstring injury in December. He has since been pictured back at training with Arsenal this summer.

Fulham have re-signed the likes of club captain Tom Cairney and right-back Kenny Tete to new deals, warded off interest in striker Rodrigo Muniz and are keen to bring in a specialist set-piece coach ahead of next season.

But Silva’s crew are the only Premier League side yet to make any new additions so far in this transfer window.

This potential return - reuniting the winger with fellow Hale End alum Emile Smith Rowe - could be a chance to change that, and give Nelson an opportunity for first-team minutes that he was beginning to rack up prior to last season’s injury woes.
