Manchester United, under INEOS, have not been afraid of splashing the cash when it comes to diamonds in the rough. Leny Yoro is a prime example.
The Frenchman, who was touted as one of the hottest French prospects, arrived at Old Trafford for £52 million last summer.
The co-owners always seem to have their eyes on players with huge potential, and Inter Milan’s Francesco Pio Esposito fits the bill perfectly.
He is only 20, and has already shone his mettle for the Nerazzurri, scoring once while registering an assist in two Club World Cup games.
The Italian ace has spent the last two seasons out on loan in Serie B for Spezia, scoring 22 goals in 54 starts across all competitions.
Last season, the Italy U21 international was in red-hot form, netting 19 times in 40 games, consistently putting the kind of performances which have alerted the Red Devils.
As per journalist Alfredo Pedulla, United have been trying since January to try and broker a deal with Inter for their highly-talented centre-forward, but the Italian side are aware of the talent their wonderkid possesses, and are in no rush to let him go.
In fact, they have turned down approaches from both the 20-time English league champions as well as domestic rivals Atalanta this summer.
“Inter are not going to sell Francesco Pio Esposito this summer, and the Nerazzurri have already turned down requests from Manchester United and Atalanta for the promising striker.
“Inter have a long-term plan for 20-year-old striker Francesco Pio Esposito and are not going to sell him for any price this summer.”
Described as a “beast“, Francesco Pio Esposito excels with his back-to-goal play, while remaining calm under pressure in front of goal, the perfect characteristics for a striker.
He has five years left on his current deal and his market value stands at €25 million. A deal looks unlikely anytime soon, especially if the player continues to excel at a rapid rate.
