Striker Marcus Thuram could drop to the bench for Inter Milan in this evening’s Serie A match against Fiorentina.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will make at least four changes.

Inter take on Fiorentina in Serie A this evening.

The two teams only just faced off in the league last Thursday. That match was at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

However, Inter host Fiorentina at the San Siro this time around.

And it is a match that carries enormous pressure for the Nerazzurri.

In the reverse fixture, Inter fell to a shock 3-0 defeat. That was a huge set back in their Serie A title pursuit, and the heaviest loss they’ve suffered since 2019.

On the other hand, Napoli have also slipped up. The Partenopei drew 1-1 with Udinese yesterday. That hands Inter an opening at the top of the table.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter coach Smone Inzaghi will react to Thursday’s disastrous loss by making some changes to the team.

In midfield, Nicolo Barella will certainly come in for Davide Frattesi.

Then on the right flank, Matteo Darmian will replace the suspended Denzel Dumfries.

In defense, Inzaghi is planning to change two of the back three. Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi will come in for Yann Bisseck and Stefan de Vrij.

But the most eye-catching change could come in attack, reports the Gazzetta.

Striker Marcus Thuram looked far from his best on Thursday. There was a feeling that he was lacking some energy and sharpness.

Therefore, reports the Gazzetta, Mehdi Taremi could take Thuram’s place in the starting eleven this evening.
