Four summer signings have already scored for Milan – only one remains

AC Milan made five signings this summer, excluding Alex Jimenez who was redeemed, and four of these have already found the back of the net. Although the Rossoneri’s main issues were in defence, this is still a good sign.

Milan ended up spending just shy of €80m this summer – read our full financial breakdown on Substack – and welcomed five new players as a result. Tammy Abraham was the last to arrive as Milan reached an agreement with Roma on deadline day.

As highlighted by Antonio Vitiello, four of these five signings have already found the back of the net for the Rossoneri: Abraham, Youssouf Fofana, Alvaro Morata and Strahinja Pavlovic. They have all made some sort of impact, in other words, and this is a positive sign.

Emerson Royal is the only signing that hasn’t scored yet and based on the first performances, we might have to wait a while for that goal. In case you missed it, Fofana was awarded Milan’s second goal against Venezia last night, in the 4-0 win, as Matteo Gabbia was deemed not to have touched it.

Then again, the main issue heading into the season was defensive solidity and this is still somewhat lacking, which is not ideal.
