Real Madrid’s senior squad has struggled in recent years when facing Atletico Madrid, but their youth teams have managed to achieve something remarkable against their city rivals.
While the first team’s focus remains on securing a place in the quarter-finals at the Metropolitano, Real Madrid’s younger squads have completely dominated Atletico’s youth teams in recent encounters.
Over the weekend, four youth derbies took place, and the results were overwhelmingly in favour of Los Blancos, with a staggering 12-0 aggregate scoreline.
This level of dominance is something the senior team might want to take inspiration from.
Real Madrid’s youth teams showcased their superiority in each of the matches played on Saturday. These results serve as a stark contrast to the senior team’s struggles when visiting Atletico in recent years.
Although Real Madrid once enjoyed a period of dominance against their rivals, winning eight consecutive away games between 2008 and 2014, they have since found it difficult to secure victories at the Metropolitano.

In their last 17 visits across all competitions, they have only managed three wins, while drawing seven times and losing seven.
The youth teams, however, were in complete control across the board. According to AS, Real Madrid B Femenino set the tone for the weekend with an impressive 3-0 win on Saturday.
This was followed by the U12 C team securing another 3-0 victory at Atletico’s ground. Later in the day, the Cadet A squad further asserted their dominance with a 4-0 win.
Finally, the Juvenil B team rounded off the series of triumphs with a solid 2-0 victory at home.
Beyond the convincing wins, what stands out even more is the fact that none of Real Madrid’s youth teams conceded a single goal throughout the weekend.
In contrast, the senior side has had major defensive concerns, ranking among the teams that have conceded the most goals in the league this season.
These young talents have not only delivered flawless performances but have also highlighted the defensive stability that the first team has been lacking.
