The announcement that Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of this season has triggered one of the biggest and most profound managerial merry go rounds in recent memories, as Matt Law has discussed in a bumper piece in the Daily Telegraph today.
The Chelsea related parts can be boiled down to two elements. Firstly that a host of former Blues bosses are on the market this summer – Antonio Conte, Graham Potter and Jose Mourinho. Then there’s Thomas Tuchel, who is of interest to Manchester United should he leave Bayern Munich in the months to come.
The second, and more relevant part, is that “Mauricio Pochettino is currently in no danger of losing his job.” However, “failure to qualify for Europe could put him under pressure when his progress is reviewed at the end of the season.”
Results are improving, we’re into one cup final and we can yet climb back up the league, hoping that some of the teams above us like Brighton and West Ham drop off a little. We can’t say that Pochettino is totally safe, but he’s on the right trajectory to be in charge next season it seems.
