One former striker has been left surprised as to why Arsenal didn’t try to sign a pending new Chelsea arrival this summer.
This news comes after Chelsea beat Real Betis to win the Conference League on Wednesday night after being a goal down at half time and turning it around.
The Blues ended up winning the game 4-1 in the end after a bit of a Cole Palmer masterclass in the second half, providing two beautiful assists for his team mates to grab crucial goals.
Although head coach Enzo Maresca is once again not willing to get carried away after this by insisting that Chelsea’s target for next season is not going to be winning the Champions League!
The Blues are expected to confirm the new arrival of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in the next days as they triggered the release clause to sign him.

The England U21 international always looked destined to join Chelsea as we heard rumours about it since January. It was just one of them that you could see happening as the club look to be backing Enzo Maresca this summer.
Former professional footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa has questioned Arsenal’s decision to bypass Delap in favour of looking elsewhere. Speaking on Talk Sport, Akinfenwa expressed his disbelief that the club failed to move for the striker, particularly given their well-publicised need for a central forward.
“I don’t understand how Arsenal didn’t snap him up,” Akinfenwa said, as quoted by Talk Sport. “I don’t understand how, when you need a striker and you’re looking at the transfer market, £30m is chump change in today’s market. So when you’ve got somebody who, you’re talking about potential, they’re talking about being a Harry Kane replacement for England, about a proper No.9, I don’t understand how Arsenal didn’t buy.”
