Paul Parker is the latest ex-Manchester United player to weigh in on the side’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Crystal Palace.

Indeed, the Red Devils have made themselves the laughing stock of the top flight yet again after they were outclassed by the 14th-placed Eagles at Selhurst Park.

It marked an 18th loss of the season in all competitions – their most in a campaign since 1977/78, as well as a Premier League-era record of 13 defeats, and there are still three games to go – four including the FA Cup final.

Numerous Reds have come under the microscope for their contributions, or lack thereof, across the 90 minutes in South London.

Parker, perhaps surprisingly, has singled out Rasmus Hojlund for his showing. The forward played 80 minutes and registered just one shot while desperately probing for his ninth league goal of the term.

In the first 45 minutes of the contest, only Aaron Wan-Bissaka was able to complete a pass to Hojlund in the box, and it was evident after the interval – as Palace continued in their relentless dominance – that he was growing frustrated with his lack of time on the ball.

Parker voices Hojlund concern

“If we’re going to talk about Hojlund, he’s in a very bad place at the moment,” Parker said of United’s No.11, as cited by Tipsbladet. “He’s behaving really childishly at the moment, and it seems like his teammates have had a negative influence on him because they also behave that way. He’s a big guy, but he keeps throwing himself, and it’s annoying to watch.

“The fans in Manchester are also talking about being irritated with Hojlund because he’s gotten into a rhythm where he blames others for not going well for him at the moment. It’s just important to remember that the whole team is playing terribly. It’s not just Hojlund’s fault, but he’s part of the problem.”
